Fresh Particulars Emerge Concerning the Discovery of Rob and Michele Singer Reiner's Remains

Fresh particulars have surfaced about the tragic deaths of acclaimed director Rob Reiner and visual artist Michele Singer Reiner, whose bodies were discovered at their residence residence on Sunday.

The Initial Report

As detailed in an account quoting a person close to the family, a therapist scheduled for an session was the first to notice something was wrong after being unable to gain access the house. The practitioner then contacted the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who resides in the vicinity.

When she went into the house, Romy found her father's body. Accounts indicate she then exited the property overwhelmed with grief, not realizing at that moment that her mother's body was also inside. Her roommate who had accompanied her promptly called 911. Afterward, emergency responders located Michele Singer Reiner's body.

Criminal Proceedings

Law enforcement have charged the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with two counts of premeditated murder, as well as the alleged use of a deadly weapon, reportedly a knife. He is currently being held without bail.

Disputed Reports

The anonymous source questioned several earlier details. The source indicated that while Romy Reiner told emergency responders that her brother Nick resided in a guesthouse on the property, she did not point to him as a person of interest at that time.

Additionally disputed widely reported suggestions that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been especially "concerned" about Nick's actions in the preceding period. The source claimed the family was "familiar with working through [Nick's] problems together."

This refutation includes accounts of reportedly "unstable" conduct by Nick at a gathering hosted by Conan O'Brien the evening prior to the bodies were found. Although the source noted they were not in a position to confirm whether Rob had "scolded" his son at the party, they asserted that claims of a "blow-up" between the two were untrue.

Investigation Timeline

Per law enforcement sources, the coroner had still not confirmed at that point whether the Reiners died on Saturday evening or on Sunday. Some media reports suggested the state of their bodies suggested they had been dead for a period of time.

Nick Reiner was arrested at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Exposition Park area, roughly 15 miles from the scene. He was set to appear in court on Tuesday, but his lawyer, Alan Jackson, stated his client had not been medically cleared and would be unable to attend until Wednesday at the earliest.
