FC Barcelona to Host Historic Fixture at Renovated Camp Nou this Saturday

The club confirmed their first game will take place at the still-under-construction Camp Nou this Saturday. Athletic Bilbao will visit the Bilbao team in the Spanish league 30 months following their departure so building work could begin.

“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”

The stadium will not be at full capacity with 45,401 fans will be allowed to watch as per the current authorization. When completed, the Camp Nou is due to hold over 104,000 attendees, up from the previous 99,000. Barça announced recent additions comprise a new players’ tunnel along with upgraded changing facilities.

Preparatory Events

Barcelona held an open training session at the Camp Nou in early November. Officials stated they are seeking authorization from Uefa to play their next home Champions League game facing Eintracht in December at Camp Nou. They have been hosting matches at the Olympic Stadium.
