David Walliams dropped by publishing house.

The author

Prolific children's author and comedian David Walliams has parted ways with his UK book publisher, according to an announcement.

An official for the company commented: "Upon deliberation, and under the leadership of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing any new titles by David Walliams."

Reports indicate that the move was taken subsequent to an inquiry regarding claims about inappropriate behaviour involving young women.

The publisher has not elaborated on the specific rationale behind the move, stating: "We do not comment on private personnel issues."

A Highly Successful Literary Career

Walliams stands as a most successful children's authors, with sales exceeding over six tens of millions of copies internationally in 55 languages.

His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins fifteen years ago.

Several of his titles, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into television films.

He has published over four dozen titles combined, which features a holiday title titled *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins this past October.

A Dual Career

His initial claim to fame came on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He received an OBE several years ago for his services to philanthropic and artistic endeavors.

The publisher's decision comes after the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO this past October.
