Chiefs Confirm Domestic Violence Allegations Connected to Wide Receiver the Athlete
The NFL franchise issued a statement on Wednesday evening confirming they are aware of claims of abuse made public in social media posts by a former girlfriend of wide receiver the athlete and had been in communication with the league office.

Allegations Shared on Social Media
Dacoda Nichole Jones, who also did not mention Rice by name, posted a set of images on Instagram that seemed to depict indicators of bodily harm. She stated the person involved was the father of her children, and it is known she has kids with the football player, whom the team selected in the 2023 draft.
Official Complaints Reportedly Unavailable
No official complaints were on file in the Kansas City suburb where the incident is said to have taken place.
Player's Recent Off-Field Troubles
The receiver was absent for the initial part of this NFL campaign following an NFL suspension for his involvement in causing a multi-vehicle accident on a Texas roadway that resulted in multiple people injured. Rice was sentenced 30 days in jail and five years’ probation after entering a guilty plea to serious offenses.
Statistically, he concluded the year with 53 catches for 571 receiving yards and five TDs as the Chiefs finished 6-11 and failed to qualify for the postseason for the first occasion in a decade.
