American-Palestinian Teenager Freed Following Nine Months in Israel's Detention

An American-Palestinian teenager after completing a nine-month period in Israel's custody without being charged has been freed.
Mohammed Ibrahim had just turned 15 during his detention in February within the occupied West Bank, where he was visiting from his Florida home accused of stone-throwing toward Israeli settlers, claims he consistently denied.
The US state department expressed satisfaction with Mohammed's liberation.
Now sixteen years old, was taken to hospital upon gaining freedom, according to close relatives.
Family described him as pale, underweight, while battling health issues developed during imprisonment.
Through an official statement, family spokesperson conveyed their "immense relief".
Zeyad Kadur stated the family experienced "living a horrific and endless nightmare" over the last nine months.
"Currently, our priority is providing Mohammed with urgent medical care he needs after being subjected to mistreatment by authorities and cruel circumstances throughout his detention."
The state department announced ongoing to extend consular services to Mohammed's family.
{"The Trump Administration has no higher priority to the protection and welfare for United States citizens"," officials stated.
Several congressional representatives submitted a formal letter to the state department and the White House, urging greater action to secure his release.
Mohammed's parent, parent of four children who runs an ice cream business in Florida, had earlier stated his child admitted guilt about rock throwing because the soldiers beat him.
There were no visits or communicated with his son since February, receiving updates exclusively what had happened to him through judicial records.
He stayed without charge in Ofer prison on the West Bank.
It is also home to mature inmates, featuring prisoners sentenced regarding severe security violations and homicide.
An estimated 350 Palestinian child security detainees being held in Israeli jails, based on prison authority data.
Several lack formal charges along with monitoring agencies, and international organizations, report instances of physical abuse and torture.
After the teenager's freedom, family representatives announced the family would also continue fighting for justice for his cousin family member Sayfollah.
The 20-year-old dual US citizen per medical officials was beaten to death by radical settlers during a confrontation last July.
Initially, defense forces stated they were examining information regarding a civilian had been killed.
Mohammed and Sayfollah collaborated within the family's frozen treats establishment in Tampa, Florida.
No charges have been filed for the cousin's murder.
"We anticipate United States leadership to protect our families," Mr Kadur said.
